what would you like to see happen darn at oakwell this summer?

First and most import question would be with regards the manager....... love him, hate him, Simon Davey is still in charge. I'm well and truly sat on the fence on this one! The problem is we have had so many bad managers over the past few years and a replacement out their, at least not yet (but maybe if Mick poor run at Wolves continues, I may change my mind). Our play under SD is so unpredictable i.e. one step forwards two steps back..... as soon as we show signs of improvement and he starts to win me over, we fail to maintain form and go backwards. But fact is we have survived in the championship on low budget for past few seasons under SD and I feel squad is stronger than when he took over.
Unless Mick McCarthy is available, I'd give stick with SD and give him until xmas 09 to prove himself. But would look to bring some experience in to the backroom staff e.g. John Ward.

As for transfers........ who should stay, who should go, and which areas do we need to strengthen?

    1. WHO SHOULD STAY:
The good news is Hassell, Fozzy, Devaney and JCR have all signed new deals this year, however, the bad news is that Luke Steele and Kozzy's contracts are up in the summer. Personally I would like to see both player re-sign and also keep hold of Muller, Colace, Anderson,

    2. WHO SHOULD GO:
Other players I believe are out of contract this summer include Macken, Moore, Souza, Letheren, Heslop and possibly KO, Van Homeot and Leon. All of whom I would be tempted to let go if replacements can be sought.

    3. AREAS WE NEED TO STRENGTHEN:
The wage bill will be cut dramaitcally without the likes of our top earners Macken, Moore, Kozluk, Steele, Rigters etc on the books. But the squad then looks thread bare, as follows:

GK's - Muller (at least one experienced back up keeper needed, plus one youth)

CD - Foster (WOW... certainly left short at the back, 2-3 experienced players needed)

LB/RB - Hassell, El Haimour, Potter (another 2-3 experienced players needed)

CM - Colace, Anderson, Butterfield (I feel if available Andranik would be a great addition, hasn't pulled up any trees yet! But getting better each game)

W/M - JCR, Devaney (further competition needed, I would love to see Hammill return on season loan)

FWD - Boggy, Jamil Adam, Noble Lazarus, and then hopefully Hume and Coulson will regain full fitness.
(as for forwards........ it looks like a complete clear out and that is exactly what is needed. The jury is still out on Mifsud. SD need to get his forward line right out its lights out. We at least one target man who has an ariel presence, and also a pacey forward who can finish!)

It will certainly be an interesting summer at Oakwell to see who stays and who goes........... A few players that would make it on my short list would be as follows:

GK: - Darryl Flahavan (Palace), Ross Turnbull (Boro)

CD: - Darren Ward (Wolves), Leon Barnett (WBA), Andy O'Brien (Bolton), Paul McShane (Sunderland),

    RB/LB: - J.O'Connor (Doncaster), S.Francis (Southend), Danny Butterfield (Palace)

CM: - L.Williamson (Watford), P.Green (Derby), N.Bailey (Charlton), Andranik Teymourian (Fulham)

W/M: - C.Taylor (Oldham), Adam Hammill (Liverpool), Dany N'Gussan (Lincoln), Peter Halmosi (Hull)

FWD: - Simon Cox (Swindon), R.Cresswell (Stoke), G.Taylor-Fletcher (Blackpool), D.Adebola (Bristol C), C.Folan (Hull), Andy Gray (Charlton), Liam Dickinson (Derby)
