Regardless of any other deal I said at the time that we were mugged by Everton and I still think it was a ***** deal for us, even more so when you consider that we held all the ace cards.

The only problem I had with the Stones dealis that he was with us for 8 years (I think), nurturing and supporting him all the way along.

Not only the financial investment we put in him, but the time and effort the likes of Flitcroft put into him to make him a brilliant player at 18.

All of that support and backing, and we get £3m for him in the end. Is that really all that effort is worth?

    Doesn't seem right to me.

I think it was good deal for a raw teenage defender

We just have to except that we are not going to get anything for our players while Pat Cryne is in charge...........because we never have

You can say what you want about John Dennis..........but that guy built a stadium out of his transfer dealings
I dont think there is any part of the stadium where Pat Cryne has put one brick on top of another

Yep, it's all a big if. Sounds implausible to me and the only way he will go for that kind of money is if it is Man City interested. No other club will pay that sort of cash for a relatively untried young player.

That aside, I still think we missed a good opportunity to capitalise on Stones' transfer. With at least two clubs in the hunt and with a contract in place we could at least have started a bidding war. It felt like we submitted pretty tamely in the end, particularly as the comments from the club stated that it would be 3m and not a penny less, plus player back on loan...minimum.

Just going on the past track record..........PCs has a poor record compared to John Dennis when it comes to getting money for players
You only have to look at Oakwell and the academy set up to realise what was there before Pat Cryne and what has been added to it since.
We will of course always be grateful to PC for saving the club.........but since he saved it the club has not progressed on or off the field
Barnsley Football club has more or less been stuck in limbo for the last 6 or 7 years
And the thing is, PC has had players at the club that have been worth something..........but the directors have always managed to give those players away

On the crowds we get your so called limbo is the best we'll get; indeed without PC's financial support we probably would be looking up a division or two dreaming of Championship limbo.

100% agree - im utterly fecked off that yet again our club has folded instead of sticking or going for the river card! - just to get a few more card terms in there! ;)
