Just noticed all three promoted teams occupy the relegation places - - looking more like the Premiership every year.

It's so hard for a club of our size to go up & do anything other than fight for survival.

Rotherham fans are currently experiencing what we had years of.

I was looking at that Derby team yesterday & the wages must be massive.

Carson, Shackell, Johnson, Butterfield, Ince, Bent & Warnock all in that team & several of them signed for good money & that's a team who don't have parachute payments coming in

It is worrying when you think Bristol City took the piss out of League One last season, and MK Dons and Preston finished on 91/89 points respectively. You get comparatively big clubs like Leeds, Forest, Wolves, Wednesday, Birmingham, Blackburn, Bolton all ambling about in mid-table or worse season after season, the latter three surviving on parachute payments and in Blackburn's case solely because they had £8 million to chuck on Jordan Rhodes.
But then you get clubs like Watford, Reading, Bournemouth, Norwich, that do manage to buck the trend and use their money sensibly. But it still almost always comes down to money, something teams like us and Rotherham haven't got. Our only hope is to follow in the footsteps of similarly sized clubs like Burnley and Swansea who never had much money, but who were sensibly managed and fought their way up against the odds. But that's become even harder now with the stupid amounts of money involved in the division. If we were to get promoted I fear it would be worse than the last time around.

Getting harder and harder for promoted teams suprised at Bristol though seemed to have money to burn thought they would have got a good side together. Can't see Brentford sustaining their status for many more seasons 9700 at there place yesterday and wednesday took 1800 hard for them Rotherham Huddersfield to compete with the big teams with plenty of cash.

Very true, bang average manager who got lucky in having so much money to chuck about last year. Will be gone by Christmas I reckon.

Isn't this why we're going down the 'young hungry players route' to nurture them. Then perhaps with 1 or 2 affordable bigger money additions we might not just be surviving if/when we get promoted. Also bearing in mind we will always sell if the price is right.
