    not great statistically :(

    Since 1988/9 when the league went to 46 games only four teams have been bottom on Dec 31st and escaped relegation

    1991/2 Oxford P24 pts 21 P46 pts 50
    1992/3 Birmingham P20 pts 18 P46 pts 50
    1997/8 Portsmouth P24 pts 29 P46 pts 51

    and of the four teams only Crewe had a worse pts per game figure than us this year-Don-phone Mr Gradi NOW !!

    Realistically I don't think we will stay up this year, despite who the manager is. Although having said that, we're only 4 points from safety whilst all the teams around us are having a good spell of form, we just need the tide to change a little in our favour, and maybe the impetus of a new manager can cause that?
