Wallwork possibly out suspended , Hassell and McCann both injury doubts . I wouldn't mind seeing Kyel Reid start the game , as I think Southend will play with a blanket defence and hope to hit us on the break . Therefore , we may need more width to our attack than we had on Saturday , in order to stretch their backline .

    Dare i suggest...

We have to start with Richards (cue onslaught by the anti Richards brigade)
Need someone up front to hold ball up - until he came on it was just coming straight back. I'd drop Hayes myself (put Reid or Deveany in there), I'd have Howard in for Wallwork (if suspended) or Togwell; Knight needs a player like Howard to put balls thru for him....and Nads back on bench (would like to see him get a proper run in team butlet's face it he's gonna go with Knight, so there's no option).

Nardi just looks more effective as sub.

    Agree

Definately play Richards, we need someone to hold the ball up.

Hayes is not a right winger, so play either K Reid or Disco. I also would like to see Brian back in the side.

Think I'll go along with all you've said there , Fiona

Don't see the game being a footballing classic . If you offered me a 1-0 win , I'd take that now .

If McCann is injured Reid looked good enough to start, and Togwell will easily start instead of Wallwork, hopefully with Howard who in my opinion is best player on team. Bring Devaney in for Hayes and drop Nardiello to bench, much more effective when coming on with fresh legs but he needs a good 20 minutes. Not the 10 that AR often gave him.

Classic example of why I would never pick Richards

seen on Sat, Knight's back heel, Richards on completely different planet. very slow to react and his goals to chances ratio is appauling. thought Knight did ok holding the ball up, the important thing is to give him a chance by playig it on the deck. Nardiello needs 5 or 6 starts, then we can judge him. Richards has had his chance, and he can be a useful sub if we're protecting a lead.

Knight didn't get a kick til Richards came on & started laying it off for him.(dunno)

    Don't agree

Knight and Nardiello are both goalscorers, but are far too similar to play together. Richards offers something different, he is far more effective at holding the ball up and it was his pressure on the defender which led to the goal on Saturday.

    RE: Don't agree

People were calling for Nardi to play, but so far even he isn't the answer to what we are missing!! Very idle on Saturday, just never looked interested.

    RE: Don't agree

Nardi hasn't even come slightly close to proving he is a great player.

We need a balanced strike force which at the moment means we need to go for richards with either knight or nardiello.

Richards for me, based on the fact that he does attempt to get into the game. (AWAITS BACKLASH!!!).

Shame that Hayes just doesn't seem up for it in this league because he could shine in it. Lacks the strength and composure.

No. FFS let Nads have 5/6 games. Everyone else has had there chance. 1 quiet game and dropped....

    give up.

Fair enough, richards made us look a little better on saturday, but thats 1 game.

Its about time the Nads was given a fair chance like everyone elses had, after that, then chop and change as we see fit.

I mean come on. Even Tommy Wrong has had more of a chance than him.

Totally agree, players should be given a chance BUT it was clear on Saturday that Nardiello didn't look up for it. We can't afford to carry a player. If Nardiello gave the effort that Wright gave we would have a great player on our hands. Unfortunate for us unless the ball is played direct into him he doesn't look prepared to do anything.

Thats ok, he wasn't doing much, and got no service, so take him off. what I was

trying to say was, let him have 5 or 6 starts. if he's not cutting it, then take him off. If after 5 or 6 starts he still didn't cut it and was taken off, then he loses his place. simple as that, and has to fight to get back in.

    Can't be fairer than that.

Just seen so many other strikers get there fair chance, no matter how bad a run they have had and still get picked, just sounding off that this lad ought to get that same chance.

I'd still give the lad a chance. Richards will always have his fans because he supposedly works hard, but is one of the most frustrating players in the squad
