he is in the Sky studio and the reporter told him what the fans were signing - i think he misses us

he called oldham Barnsley twice in 2 mins while he did their match report. He knows the fans still love him although i doubt he would ever come back while shepherd is at the helm.

I heard that. He didn't seem inspired by the Oldham game

at all, mind elsewhere with those slips?

Ritchie would have taken us down even quicker than Davey will and they can sing all they like but he won't be coming back so get over it for gods sake.

    Even quicker than Davey?

    I don't think that'll be possible. I can't see when we'll win again.

Garbage. We've just been soundly beaten at home by the bottom

of the league. Where are the next points coming from? We will go down as the bottom club with Davey, well adrift.

Thats exactly how I felt with Ritchie in charge. We have picked up a few more points since Davey took over although I don't think it will be enough. The point is that if Ritchie was still there it would be unlikely that it would be any better and could infact be decidedly worse, who would you sing for then, Paul Hart.

Were the fans ever singing for Ritchie to be sacked?

I didn't want him to go.

Normally when managers get sacked the vast majority of fans want rid. I don't think this was the case with Ritchie. There was certainly a significant section of the fans that wanted rid, but I think it was still probably a minority - less than 50% (I don't believe this board is a truely representative cross section of opinions)

If the ******** about the contract hadnt come about

I think we would have won more games under Ritchie than Davey.

The situation following the Wednesday defeat at Hillsborough knocked the team completely out of their stride and it has been downhill ever since.

We have been extremely lucky to have won any games under Davey.

So do I. Davey has had a couple of very lucky wins,

93rd minute winner and a handball not given against Burnley? Hardly inspiring victories.

RE: If the ******** about the contract hadnt come about

The business about the contract is all a very convenient smokescreen. Do you know any club in the country, who would have given a new and improved contract to a manager who had a predominantly losing record, when there was still 8 months to run on the existing contract. Get real!

You're not listening. There would not have been new contracts

at the end of the season, even if we had stayed up. That is what Holden believed and what he stated before the Palace match. No new contracts for them at all.

Did you not see any improvements on the field at the beginning of the season?

We were miles better than we were last season, although I suspect you are going to deny this.

    The team were making progress.

Its a pity Ritchie didnt sign some of the **** that Shep wanted just to keep him happy.

RE: Davey came in at a convenient time.

His first 2 matches were Southend and Ipswich at home. Two crap teams that we would have destroyed with attacking footy under Ritchie. Instead Davey got lucky. If Ritchie had been given 2 more weeks, then he would still be in charge now.
