Gets Boring....... when the best they can do is a "We all hate Leeds scum" chant. It's hardly worth bothering even thinking about them. And i don't think that chants gets behind our players (which is the whole point of singing i thought).
RE: Gets Boring....... We had a good rendition of "You are my Barnsley, my only Barnsley" which we've only just got going recently. We also had "red flag".....I'd prefer our red flag song to be more the one that Sunderland were singing (and Chelsea use). As for the "We all hate Leeds scum" - gets people singing....noise from the crowd is what's needed so don't knock it!
Not sure if the 'stand up, if you're staying up' chant does any good either. Just seems to make the team complacent. PLEASE DONT SING THIS UNTIL/IF - WE ARE MATHEMATICALLY CERTAIN OF STAYING UP.
"Stand up if you hate Sheffield" confuses me. It is rolled out every week and I am sure the players take nothing from it, and it certainly wont affect any other opposition fans except Sheff. Also "sh*t on the b*st*rds below, below" was rather misplaced yesterday. Surely we should be singing this when we are playing teams below us, or around us at most.
And I don't dislike Sheffield....it's United and Wednesday I dislike, not the place. Although I noticed how all the Sunderland fans appeared to hate Sheffield.
Perhaps it should be changed then to "Stand up if you believe we are capable of staying up, given some good results, and other teams not doing as well as us"
RE: We need a "Chants" dossier ??? I agree like i said on here the other day this site needs a song book section. Pople will then know the words and can sing along!
