I have only just listened to the interview with Mr Shepherd on radio Sheffield. My first thought is, what must Mr Cryne be thinking about the whole sorry mess. He has already got rid of one chairman. Surely, he must be thinking that such a show of disunity has earned another Chairman an early bath. When things go wrong, supporter usually look for someone to blame. In most cases, this is the manager, and in most cases, whatever the merits of the case, the manager goes. Because the manager, against the odds, got the club promoted last season, he commands more loyalty from the fans than is usual. As a result, the Chairman is sharing the blame for poor performances. It looks to me like the Chairman does not like to be in the spotlight and has attempted to switch blame back on to the manager. My view is that Ritchie has not be allowed sufficient resourses to improve the side and that rather than waste what little money he has, he is hanging on and keeping quiet about his lack of options, a much more dignified and honest position than that taken by our chairman. However, Mr Cryne must see this as a breakdown in the relationship of the management team and one or both will have to go.
"The chairman doesnt like to be in the spotlight" Is this a bad thing? The complete opposite is Simon Jordan - now we would be in trouble......
