Right, lets give Morris a full half. I think chaplins days are numbered. We need some presence and something different up top.
He's on the pitch. He's not playing though. Frieser is only slightly better. With a couple of yards of space on the edge of the area he somehow contrived to do nothing at all when losing the ball looked quite difficult to do from that position.
We often play without much of a threat from any forward. Woodrow cocks up the build up play (not that we do much building up) as much as the others, but has the saving grace of scoring every now and then.
The times we just punt the ball forward, high and aimless, instead of taking a touch, being composed and making an accurate pass on the floor. It's all far too hurried; we need much more composure, and I've noticed all these traits in several previous games..
I hate to say it but I would have to agree, people's expectations have been lowered so much tho recently that someone who can close down and run around is seen as a championship striker.
Our lack of link up play in the final third is embarrassing seriously Chaplin offers us nothing he’s like having a junior player in a mans league.
It looks for all to see imo that Mowatt is hitting aimless balls forward but in fairness Chaplin of Frieser should latch onto at least some of them .
I'm not watching the match so probably have no right to comment....... But I can see without watching. Hope I'm proved wrong but i reckon I won't be.
Agreed, and he’s still not as bad as Adeboyejo, Schmidt, Miller and Freezer. There’s some genuine non league players in the squad.
Woodrow didn't play well in that first half. But he did in midweek. I'm struggling to recall a good minute from Chaplin in the last few months never mind a good game.
I'll reiterate what I've said on here numerous times. Chaplin is a nice lad but he's nowhere near good enough to be playing championship football.
It’s not his fault but he isn’t big enough or quick enough to have a impact in this league time for him to move on in the summer i would think.
