Barnsley and Reading have joined Blackpool in the chase for Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam but have failed to meet the £500,000 asking price. (The Herald) No thanks
His sister would love it in Barnsley! What's the song again... "Charlie Adam's sister's pants are the best, you can smell 'em from the East to the West"
Nine goals in his last fifty four games. He would fit right in......... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Adam_(footballer_born_1985)
RE: Would be a great signing imo It was him who tried to beat Muller at his near post with the free kick wasn't it, like Aurelio vs Chelsea?
And? Are midfield players not allowed to score goals? We can't be relying on JCR as our only midfield goal scorer next season. We need to find someone who can get us 10-15 goals. I don't expect us to find a Redders of Higgy, but we need someone who can reach double figures.
Far better record than JCR had before he signed And that's equivalent to 7-8 a season which is decent.
RE: Would be a great signing imo it sure was and yes youre both right he was very good that day.I`ll look after his sis as journo and dreamboy are 2 busy on match days. She can join Mrs X in the west stand or see if she can find his " mate " that moves around the ground!!!!! He`s mates with Kyle Lafferty and Lee naylor
I was on about the most recent games for Charlie Adam and not his overall record. If you want to compare recent records Adam as scored nine goals in last fifty four games and Chris Taylor reached double figures last season from a dozen or so less games and got in the PFA team of the year..... http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10337~30217,00.html
Since when is 9 goals in 54 games a poor record for a midfielder It would take De Silva and Colace about 1000 games to score that many.
I think Davey will be looking for a goalscoring midfielder, who can do the job Brian Howard used to do. Adam got 14 goals from midfield for Rangers in 2006-07, but his return since then has been less impressive. Weren't we also linked with Andrius Velicka from Rangers - amazing scoring record he has - five goals from seven games last season (ok! In a team walking away with most games and he didn't play much), but he historic record with Hearts was also good (11 from 16 games in 2006-07) and he has always scored goals. At 30 years old, he isn't up-and-coming, but would provide the weight and experience, but might not be a significant improvement on Macken. Just wondering if there could be a deal going for both of them??
