Charlie Adam would be just what we're needing this season. Some creativity, good at set pieces and scores goals!

£500k would have been money well spent. especially considering 400k Mostto, 200k Odejayi etc.

We should have broke Bristol City's wrists for De Silva and got Adam as a replacement. We would be a far better side now.

As soon as i heard we were interested and that Rangers wanted 500k for him i thought he'd be a sound investment.

We wern't prepared to pay over 250k though. (N)

Scored 4 goals for Blackpool already this season, been there best player according to reports.

Other teams have signalled him out as Blackpool's best player.

Great set-peice taker, pulls the string in midfield, runs with the ball and shoots outside the area. Something we hardly do.

Wating for the 'Davey said at the East Dene that he wanted a 2 year contract with the option of a third' response now. I.e. - not worth that amount of money for a 2 year contract. Andy Gray signed a 2 year contract for 600k - so i don't see where that particular argument against comes from.

And he's only about 23/24 I think. We should be looking at a 3 year contract as standard for a good player at that age.

Andy Gray at 31? Fair enough he has shown he has quality now but hardly about to come into his prime.

How much did we pay for Hammill ? I think Charlie Adam would at least be able to pass to one of his own players.

I thought we had an offer accepted in the end, it was down to the player where he went. Rumours of 15k a week wages, probably exaggerated but he was looking for top dollar. He is a cracking player mind. Agree with the comment above, we should have sold Anderson and invested that million in Adam.

    No.

Davey confirmed to the Sheffield Star that he wasn't prepared to pay over 250k for him.

Another poor decision from the Welsh Wizard.

He was on 5k a week at Rangers, Holloway confirmed wages wouldn't be an issue so i'd imagine he'll be on about 7-8k at Blackpool.

No way will he be on 15k a week.

    No

Davey said he wasn't prepared to blow 500k on a player that would only sign a 2 year deal and would probably be looking for his next move before that

Read the last paragraph in my original post.

I couldn't give a flying **** if he only signed for 2 years and scored and created a hatful of goals.

    Just that.

To be fair, even if we had matched the price and the wages, he still may have chosen Blackpool. He had been there before after all, and been successful. They finished above us last season, so its not like he was choosing a club in a lower position. I think he could feasibly be on more than 7-8k too. Their owner has been investing this summer, rich bloke, worth a couple of hundred million. And there's the seaside living.

If the owner is worth that, why doesn't he complete the stadium. It is the worst ground in the Championship.

And, you've got to remember that we may think we're bigger than Blackpool cos we were in the Prem for one season, but to a 24 yr old kid and his peers who were still fallin off their bikes back then, it means nowt, the last few years Blackpool have been our equal atleast, and he gets to live on the coast, with loads o hen nights in town every weekend................no brainer really!

I think it's because today showed we sorely need a player like Adam in the middle of the pitch, creatively in open play and from set pieces. We just seemed to bypass midfield today going forward

No, he'd have left a goal scoring midfielder on the bench wouldn't he.

    Yup, you know best.

It's Robins by the way aswell. Ciao.
