    Anyone think...

That Davey's backed off the Adam deal now it looks like De Silva's staying?

Bristol have signed Hartley? From Celtic who plays the same position as Anderson so i reckon he was gonna get Adam as De Silva's replacement.

Now he's set to stay he's backed off his interest?

    Just a thought.

No we bid more but Rangers obviously accepted a lower bid as they like Blackpool more than us

This would be the Anderson who has been played as a more attacking minded midfielder from clueless last season!

Anderson's best position is as a defensive midfielder. He's neither comfortable nor prolific coming forward.

To be fair I don't think he has been

I think that for a considerable chunk of the season late on he played as part of a three man defensive midfield, prior to that he played as part of a two man defensive midfield pairing with JCR prancing around in front of them.

Not entirely sure why we went in for him anyways...

It wasn't like we weren't creating enough last season. The problem was, we couldn't stick the chances away when they came!

I'd rather we saved the £500,000 and put it towards Hammill and/or a striker.

I thought we created very little last season

From the middle that is. It was very rare that we saw a good ball through the middle for a striker or that we saw a midfielder coming from the middle to follow in when balls bounced back out or to give an option for someone to pass to.

Probably because we were employing two defensive minded centre midfielders...

And putting the emphasis on JCR.

I really don't think Adam would be the answer to any potential problems we may face with creativity.

What about Mark Fotheringham? On trial at Derby at the minute. They've just signed Lee Croft too.

Barnsley have to set targets with anderson this year if hes going to play a am role. anderson can play the attacking role and anyone who went to turf moor will know that he can. He problem for me is that the team as a hole has to work to create space for him and ryce. This as got to start with the defence and go all the way through to the midfield and then to the attackers. This as also got to be with a 4-4-2 or an a attacking 4-5-1 for me. These 2 formations will and could suit barnsley in this way. I also think that barnsley need to be more attacking at fullback and go at teams at oakwell.

Yes i agree. I watch the spanish football every Saturday when i get back from football or what ever. My favorite player for barca is not messi or eto its alves. I watch him when hes on which is nearly every week and i think wouldn't it be good if are full backs would get forward like he does. So i go to oakwell or where ever and think is are full backs going to get forward today. The one which did last year was van homoet and i always liked that. Also kouzluk has done before and i can remember him getting forward against Preston i think and he missed but at least he still got forward. I think it it was the game when he hurt its ear or cheek bone.
