Austins a good striker, 18 goals in a relegated side must make him pretty decent

Tbf QPR were ***** all season and he was still one of the top scorers in the league.

But yeah I get what you mean with the pricing, it's just going to keep going up and up as well.

Yeah was just comparing it to the shearer sale who was a proven 25+ prem goals a season and top england striker. Not denying austin is good but his first season in prem. If shearer was around this day and age would be 40m+

Blackburn paid £3.6 million to Southampton for Shearer - a then British Transfer Record. Probably worth more back then than the £15million quoted for Austin in todays money.

This in part is why English football on a bigger scale is screwed, £15 mil for Charlie Austin or you could probably bring a kid the same age who scored 30 in a season for some club in Eastern Europe who is tagged as the next Robert Lewandowski or something in for £8 mil. Until British clubs stop pricing British players with such stupid numbers it'll forever impact on the national team and hinder the growth of players right down the chain.

When you consider Liverpool paid £35m for Andy Carroll I don't think £15m for Austin appears bad!!
