Everybody seems to be releasing a Wembley song, so I thought I'd have a crack and record it if we reach the final. Written some rough draft (unfinished) lyrics that I'd probably set to a 70's style stomping glam rock tune. What do you reckon, carry on working on it or bin it?? 1912 Titanic gone & Harry Tufnell sank West Brom 96 years later @ Anfield Road silenced the Kop with Howard's wonder goal quarter finals down at the 'well Kayode's knock out punch made Avram Grant's life hell.... We're Simon Davey's red & white army! We're gonna Wembley we're gonna Wembley we're Barnsley FC and we're off to wembley We'll win the FA cup and bring it home and perch king Simon on his throne we'll conquer Europe well you've gotta dream we'll always keep the faith in our beloved football team We're Simon Davey's red & white army! We're gonna Wembley.... Always the underdogs with the bookies and the pundits we're going all the way and Paddy Cryne is gonna fund it genial Gordie Shepherd is our man in the chair planning another civic reception with reds flags everywhere We're Simon Davey's red & white army! We're gonna Wembley.... (Repeat to fade)
Forgot to mention.... It's very tongue in cheek as all footy songs should be! Think Jim-bob out of Carter type irony.
