well, we've gone for the cheap option in Davey which is no surprise as the last manager we appointed (AR) was too the cheap option. However we at least knew who AR was, having scored for fun throughout his career and done well with the latics. Yet Davey is the former manager for the under 9's and has made a few appearances for Frickley. Shepard mentioned how Davey has played 7 - won 11...yes i haven't mis-typed - "played seven, won ELEVEN" thats what he said in an interview on sunday. work that one out. Also Shepard mentioned how our main priority was to maintain our position in the "Champions League" - haha - i'm sure this guy has kicked a football before. As for the promise of "BOX OFFICE players", well. "Box office" can be defined as "entertainment popular enough to attract paying audiences and make a profit", let's look at it so far - Grant McCann - League 2 proven. Kyel Reid (unproven). Making bids for Bury players??? yeah sure, i think shepard must define Box Office as "footballers who live in boxes". Come on Mr Shepard, we cannot rely on young inexperienced players at lower level, this is the CHAMPIONSHIP. Barnsley Football Club are showing no ambition whatsoever, hence why McIndoe left for Wolves, and why Chopra and McPhail opted for Cardiff. I don't think that it is how much we are prepared to spend, but what shepard is willing to pay them in wages. Maybe 2 sacks of coal a week isn't enough for some. The equation that pops into my mind is - if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. COYR
Good post fella, you have identified one of the MANY flaws and inconsistencies that the Barnsley board are feeding their customers, as usual treating us with contempt and taking us for granted!!
Exactly, Ritchie was trying to bring in Championship level players while Shepherd controlledthe wage structure at League 1 level. That's why players weren't brought in, look where Stephen Foster and Darren Ward are playing now, in the Championship, they wouldn't sign for Barnsley because of the wages on offer compared to elsewhere. The whole thing is a joke.
Two names: Colin Kazim Richards. Danny Cadamateri. you're wrong wrong wrong. and Cardiff nearly went bust, before you use Chopra and McPhail to support your wrongness.
Did Ritchie not want to sign Cadamateri? where's he now? Kazim Richards was nigh on our player, only Andy changed his mind over the weekend. Maybe over a beer with his mate Windass.
I'd love to believe we had £2m to spend but obviously someone who doesn't even know who we've had on trial over the last couple of months knows better.Try looking at the facts, if you can find out what they are, before you make smart arse comments.
quite, dont requote crap to support what ur saying, makes u look even more ridiculousthan you looked previously. and thats saying something.
Cadamateri's at Leicester. No idea why he changed his mind about Kazim Richards, he was in League 1 reserves at the time though so hindsights a great thing, isn't it?
thanks owen, i must admit, the very fact you think that reassures me greatly. you make comments and never back hem up, you recycle old crap that people have disproved previously, and frankly, your a tiresom little boy and theres no doubt in my mind that you have little or no knowledge of running a business, negotiating at any sort of level or leading anyone or anything. tis obvious, your a blinkered, ill educated follower. but hey, thats just my opinion. i dont agree with everything this board does, i liked AR and maybe the boardwere premature in their actions, who knows, but the drivel you spout, alwaqys negative shows you as one of the moaners who would no doubt have moaned ifseason ticket prices went up.
I'm afraidhave run my own business, I have post graduate qualifications too and, unlike you my friend, can spell!
Show's what you know, doesn't it? (it's you're, by the way)
