Nice price until you factor in the cost of the phone line you've got to have. It's still a bargain compared to the regular price, but I don't consider £42.40 a month cheap. Particularly as the only purpose of a land line these days is to receive unwanted and unsolicited calls from India. And phone calls from your mum. She has a mobile phone, she gets free minutes, you probably set it up for her, you may even pay her bill, but she still insists on using the land line that you routinely ignore and costs her money.

Looks like a cracking deal that. I've just switched broadband to EE (which is $hite by the way), but I'm on the lookout for good deals on TV only..

Sacked my sky off weeks ago and got one of those amazon fire sticks with kodi installed on it. Will never pay for sky tv again.

You don't need a landline any more. I have Sky on a 25 months for £25 deal. This for me is due to end next March :(

The activation on the sky boxes are done over the internet.

I have the internet and TIVO (in bedroom with min channels) and landline with VirginMedia. Although I don't use the landline and it wasn't needed when they installed my Sky.

You do to get that deal. You have to have a sky land line that costs £17.40 per month.

    http://www.sky.com/shop/offers/proposition/COMP2512M

*Edit* You have to get a land line for any deal that TV/internet companies offer. It's nothing to do with the functionality of the equipment used, it's just that they don't make any money from your broadband/TV package, but they make a killing on the line rental. They can advertise the package you want for next to nothing in great big **** off letters then tell you underneath in brackets in small letters that you also have to take their land line. Some companies offer a package without a land line, but more often than not it costs more than when also paying for the land line.

    *Edit 2*

This may go on for ever.

I was speaking specifically about the package that contained broadband, which I now realise I hadn't made at all clear.

You're probably better off ignoring me. Everyone that knows me usually does.

How easy is that to use and where did you get it from with kodi installed? Thanks.

I already have sky but in my girlfriends name so I signed up to this deal in my name and she rang and cancelled the current deal in her name. Was paying close to £80 for the same package with multi room before and it's down to £48 after using this deal for 12 months.

I'm on a similar friends and family deal but got the 25 months for £25 (all channels). That's all I take from Sky. The landline wasn't needed for that deal.

I still have VirginMedia, 100mb internet, Tivo (in bedroom) and phoneline. That package was cheaper to keep the phone line than take it off. I don't use it.

If you go through the links as if a new customer, your given a choice of either just the TV Complete Bundle at £25, or The Complete Bundle and Unlimited broadband. For the broadband bundle you do need the phone line at £17.40.

i'm almost certain the industry will change massively, in response to kodi and IPTV. people are turning off the dial in droves, and paying very little to do it. it's obviously all very illegal as well. i can't imagine the powers that be are just going to sit back and let it happen. summat has to change. whether that's changing technology, or bringing prices down, or changing laws to scare the $hit out of people

Did this work? I'm toying with idea of getting it under my partners name and cancel my deal. I was only contracted for 12 months and my 25 month price runs out in March.

You'd also get a new Sky HD+ box and if you opt to set it up yourself onto existing dish, there shouldn't be any additional costs.

Cancelled sky a month ago. Never once had an offer until I cancelled.

At which point they miraculously said I could have a never ending deal of half price.

********. Switch it off. You could have given a loyal customer that rather than take me for granted that I would never cancel.

Needless to say cough splutter and "fair enough" wad the reponse.

Excellent - My contract was only 12 month, my deal was 25 month. I'm at month 23 so would be so should gain by 10 months.

This would be my future bill in March. From £25 to £75.75 :nails:I was going to cancel it all and just up my Virgin package.

£25 is a great deal, but it's still not enough to tempt me back. i pay a tenner a month for HD IPTV. it's obviously not as good as sky, but for the amount of telly i watch, it'll do. i also can't be ar$ed fcukin about with sky any more, every time a deal ends. it does my head in.

Cheers Selby, got it all booked in as a new customer in my missus's name / bank account. No need to take the phone option. £25 for 12 months. You even get a £25 Tesco Voucher (Worth £50 with clubcard boost).

Install in-between Christmas and New Year.

Now to give notice on my account

Switch off the TVs. It saves me a fortune not sharing a hobby with the rest of the country!
