Totally agree, the guy is still not 100% yet showed more effort in his time on the pitch than the rest showed in what time they had over the last 3 games.

Steele must wonder what he has done signing a new contract.

Bet he wishes he had left and Muller stayed.
Poor bugger, without him we would have conceded at least twice as many in last 2 matches.

Dont you mean the other 12 can go ? Macken & boggy showed so little effort on saturday that they couldnt even get into that team tonight.

It's all about opinions but I thought Steele were poor tonight, I'd like to see the goals again but i thought he should have had Parkin's goal, he also dropped a cross n got away with it and his kicking was poor.

Looked to me like Parkin's took a slight deflection

Not seen a replay on telly or owt yet tho.
However, in my recollection, Preston had 6 shots, 5 on target of which 3 went in.
It'd be harsh to suggest the goals were his fault but he hardly kept us in the game did he?

    Swings and roundabouts.

I thought Steele played well tonight. His handling was good, and his kicking was good (compared to Lonergans, which was awful). Steele communicated well and didn't really have too much to do, save the odd throughball or cross. He was helpless for the first two goals, and the third one did take a small deflection, which caught him off guard. However, I would've expected a keeper of his stature to have done a little better with it, but I'm not blaming him. The cross should've never come over, and Parkin should've never had the time and space that he had to bring the ball down and get a shot away.

    Sorry but...

Macken played well on Saturday (without looking like scoring as usual) and was unlucky to be dropped.

    Agree again...

I thought that was an odd decision.

    But hey...

Macken has played well for the last 2 years, yet we always struggle to score goals.

Do you really think Hume was that good tonight?

Superb delivery from set pieces but looked way short of match fitness and didn't look particularly sharp. If I had a pound for every time KO won a header and Hume just watched it land in space and not run for it I'd be a very rich man.

I like Hume and fully fit will be great but, corners and free kicks apart I thought he struggled.

I didn't say he was good, did i?

I'm not sure ina 0-3 home defeats you could particularly say anyone played 'good'.

I said 'cheers for coming and having a go', which in English, means at least he tried. And this is a lad that less than 9 months ago was laid up in a hospital bed following surgery to a fractured skull.

I don't mind losing games, provided the players at least put a shift in and be competitive. Hume was the only one that did that. The rest ought to wake up this morning embarrased at what they did last night, and that includes Mr Davey. Trouble is, they won't give a flying f**k, because come Friday,Mr Cryne will still be paying their wages!

Steele was poor. All he did was hoof the ball and try and find Oddjob. Now that Muller's gone, there's no real pressure on him.

Steele played well and cant be blamed for any of the goals. The third took a deflection and was as a result of more schoolboy defending.

    Problem is

The tactic of lumping it up to Oddjob for him to flick on simply doesn't work. There is neither the accuracy nor consistency for the other striker to know where he needs to be running to until it is too late.

When Hume had his brain surgery they should have fitted the "Hyperspace" button off an old Asteroids machine to the side of his head. It's the only way he'd be on the end of Oddjob's headers on.

same when Boggy came on!! we all know that KO is good in the air, he will win over 90% of filck ons, so why did people stand right at the side of him instead of running goalwards????? Beggers belief it really does!
