Very up and down match. Both sides were in the ascendancy for 4 x10 min spells in the match

Palmer was excellent first half and we just edged a tight contest, but we were weak down the left. We played very much like last season but with slightly less edge but a touch more guile

Second half started very high tempo and we scored a brilliant team goal that was ruled offside. In my drunken 38 degree haze it looked on side but that’s a fairly unreliable evidential source ..,

Then bang…..1-0 Cardiff / horrid defending from a corner

couldn’t help but think set pieces ( offensive and defensive) win the championship ( I still do….)

it seemed inevitable that we would lose to this kind of sucker punch but then an exquisite ball from Benson to the marauding Sibbick who placed it superbly from 20 yards

I though we would go on to win it but slight lack of quality followed from there

good point today, loads to improve on

Exciting to think that we may have a couple of quality strikers ready to come through and start converting those chances too.
