Chester fans think they're going to bring a decent contingent to Oakwell. Should make for a cracking game, hope we can follow suit and make the Oakwell atmosphere decent for a change.
Fair play to them. They're just trying to get up for the away day. We'll be exactly same if we get to next round and get a big away PL club. Hope they do fill the away end. Be nice
if they bring more than 2500 i will be very surprised be great to see them fill it but very much doubt they will sell 6000 tickets
They say that their biggest away attendance since reforming is about 3500 to 4000 for a game with Blackburn. I reckon they'll bring about 2,500. Massive for a conference team and the biggest away contingent we'll have seen all season.
If they did sell 6,000 tickets they'd probably outnumber us on the day! I was telling my little girl on the way to Saturday's game that when I was her age attendances were the other way round and actually increased for FA Cup games. Nowadays nobody seems interested. Unless we're playing Manchester United reserves of course, when everybody will want to go.
I hope as many Chester folk come out of the woodwork as possible and they not only sell out the away end, we give them half the west stand so they can bring 7,500. More likely is they bring 2,000.
I remember back in the late 70s/early 80s when we travelled away to Chester. Great away days. Especially when they had the Train specials and the double decker bus transport to the ground They didn't have many fans back in those days, we outnumbered them on most of the occasions!
