http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19396772 4 games in and Sheridon disposed of Mindl you last season wasnt a great sucess either
A Wembley appearance And winning the Football League Trophy suggests it wasn't a total failure, either. Just three games into the new season and the chairman has pressed the panic button. If Sheridan is such a poor manager, why wait until the end of August before sacking him? Why not do it as soon as they were relegated?
Re: A Wembley appearance Same with Andy Thorn. I can't understand why give a manager a full pre-season, the clubs budget to spend and then sack them a couple of days before the transfer window closes. It doesn't reflect very well on the club hierachy
Re: A Wembley appearance I Agree it makes no sense to sack him now - he did get them promoted last time so he knows how to win in that division so either sack him when they got relegated or give him a sensible number of games to see if he has turned things round 4 games is just too few
Re: A Wembley appearance Probably wanted to see if there was any discernible improvement at the start of the season and have decided there hasn't been. Mind you, when we got rid of Davey I'd have sacked him before the season rather than give it five games.
I was just about to post Something similar. The time to remove Davey, in my opinion, was straight after the Plymouth game in May. That way, the newly appointed manager would have had the time to assess his squad and be able to strengthen where he saw fit.
Unless Something's happened behind the scenes that we're not privy to, it does seem to smack of an irresponsible knee jerk reaction.
Nowt wrong with that People can hold different viewpoints on a variety of subjects, whilst still being respectful to one another.
Re: A Wembley appearance I've never understood why chairmen do this. Sack them in May or give them at least ten games because I dont see how sacking somebody after three games does any good.
Re: Unless Mate's a Chesterfield fan, reckons there's summat else to it. Few rumours flying around about his private life apparently.
