But doesn't he still remain accused? His status right now is charged with rape and due to begin trial. In many other lines of work he would be (at best) suspended by his employer. In fact wasn't the Sunderland chief exec universally slated for not suspending Adam Johnson when his status was the same as evans' is now?
At worst he is potentially still a rapist. At best he's pond scum What's not to like for a sponsor to advertise it's products/ services to potentially millions of people ? ( if they have a good cup run etc )
Agree, I wasn't defending him, just pointing out his current situation. Think his trial starts in October.
So surely the 'innocent til proven guilty' phrase applies to Evans here then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Johnson made admissions in his police interview, accepting some aspects of the criminality alleged against him - kissing a girl he knew to be under 16. It was upon that basis that Sunderland were criticised for not suspending him prior to him formally entering his guilty plea. Evans denies the allegation and is innocent until proven guilty, his earlier conviction quashed having been found to be unsafe following the COA's reconsideration of the case.
Evans has admitted some aspects of add as well. He has admitted sneaking out of a fire exit, lying to enter an hotel room, having a threesome and allowing it to be recorded. He is legally charged with rape and awaiting trial. I would be suspended from work in such circumstances
So what? He's innocent, the evidence adduced at his trial found to be insufficient to found a conviction and he's served a sentence for a crime which, in my view, he is not likely to become convicted of. Pleased Danny has signed him on.
In your line of work would you expect to be suspended if you were charged with rape and awaiting trial?
But even if at his re trial he's found not guilty, the way he behaved that night with regards to the things already mentioned in this thread should be enough for any decent club to not want him near them.
Even if he's innocen of rape after his retrial in the autumn .it still makes the actual deed deplorable in anybody's sense of morality . If he is found innocent surely the deed itself comes into question and his role in full glare of the footballing populace and beyond is in disrepute. If he is found innocent I think most decent living and good standing would at best have feelings of indifference to his employers which includes a lot of its supporters . Font think many would actually be PLEASED. That IMO ta km es a certain kind of person. He should get on with making a living without reminding people at every opportunity what a horrible person he is.
What professional world do you live in where you'd be suspended for leaving via a fire exit after having a threesome? Dont see any incriminating evidence there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
