That attempt that Colgan saved on the line.
Just watched the highlights, and it was in.

What's Hecky done wrong?

Had a deccent game if you ask me.
Not as many crosses into the box, but to be honest he's put some peaches in over the last few weeks and they've been wasted. So whats the point?

Cost us (with Devaney) about five goals recently

deceptive

Is the ball on the floor or in the air?

Colgans body is clearly this side of the line and his arms don't look to be reaching back, they seem to be going across.

RE: Freezeframe

Is the ball on the ground there though?

Difficult to tell...if it's on the ground then it's over but if not then can't tell.

The ref looks unsighted and what side was the linesman?

inconclusive

picture needs to be straight above ball and closer in. The ball could be in the air so could appear to be in from the camera angle shown.

Linesman was in front of the east stand so he didnt have a good view of it.

Whoa!

I never claimed it to be conclusive!
Linesman on right of pic, ref unsighted.
The only thing it does prove is that none of the officials were in a position to award a goal.
From the moving pics, it appears the ball actually bounces on the goal line itself so it's whether it bobbled straight upwards, or upwards and onwards, that is the issue.

bit harsh that mate.

fair enough he took a couple of games to "settle in", which is expected.

But he started to come in to it at tranmere, since then I think he has been farily consistent, and yesterday, proved he can get stuck in too.

Got a great throw in, which is as good as a corner

and the best crosser since nicky eaden, which we never replaced.

Think we have a gud en here missen.

Problem is

we do seem to be conceding too many goals down the left side.

I still reckon, since Devaney is not performing, with Hassell back we could move Austin to left back and push Hecky forward to the wing berth. Better defensively and better cross delivery than the current Hecky/Devaney combo.

you mention one player their...

Devaney, should be in effect the first line of defence, since he has been toilet the last few weeks, that is over exposing hecky. and he has too much to defend.

ausie has been god yes, but the back 4 to me should look like (when fit)

LB - Hecky
CB - Kay/Reid (either of em, but kay over last few performances)
CB - Hassle
RB - Ausie

Indeed I would agree

that Devaney (and sometimes Shuker) losing possession in key positions have left Heckingbottom with too much to do.

However, I don't see Howard as a wide man, McParland has yet to convince (good at Brentford, shocking on Sat) and so I can't see another left-side pairing that could work. Austin and Hecky I think is worth a go.

so its over to Varley then...

seen as you know him (hecky)

has he played on LW position before.

Sounds a fair argument by revvie.

He has, but he isn't a flying winger by any stretch of the imagination.
It would be similar to when we had Eaden wide mid for a while.
He's fine as he is, just have Shukes on the left so that Hecky isn't getting over-run, as is the case when Devany gets caught out.
