Apparently is going to meet with AS Nancy fan groups next week. Seems like concerted, well organised protest may be working over there
Well, I know who I'm choosing to believe. Someone truly with no bias, or a group of people who unfortunately appear to be far too close to the club to be objective... Tough choice.
Well my daughter who just goes to the odd game and came to keep me company said he'd said target of 11000 season tickets and took it the same way as I did.
Good old French! Years ago I used to think their whole country was a rabble of pitch forked over excited numpties. Its clear they are just soooo much better than us at protests and achieving on the back of it. Well done them, I say....wish we could protest half as efficiently.
I read the long thread yesterday on the meeting with the CEO, I wasnt at the meeting but I cant believe some of the petty arguments on there I am not a fan of Khaled and havent forgiven him for the West Stand debacle but really trying to jump on every word and twist it to an agenda is just a bit dumb. I dont care what he said about Season Ticket sales, he is not completely stupid or he wouldnt be where he is now and he will know that we arent selling 11000 season tickets this summer unless he finds a rabbit to pull out of a hat somewhere but does anyone seriously expect him to say the target is 6000, Just imagine the comments if he had
At least fans would see him to me more realistic and this would carry more creedance other than spouting ********
A clever bloke wouldn't have specified a number, he would simply have said, "We want to sell as many as possible" and then gone on to offer some positive words of incentive.
Instead of protesting we just turn our backs, in the long run probably damaging our own club more than the ownership. We do apathy, not protest.
Moving on from the 11,000 and whether or not Khaled is a nice chap (I'm sure he is) what we need from the club now is action not aspirations and soundbites. There's not a lot that can constructively happen right now. The ship has sailed, or rather sunk, on this season. What happens over the summer is key. However, whether the CEO is just a top chap or an astute operator is fairly irrelevant unless he's invented a way of making money out of thin air. From what I'm reading on here there's going to be serious financial challenges round the corner which will make what he's doing a simple act of rearranging deck chairs. I hope that it's not as serious as I fear and we can regroup in league One. Nothing the CEO or the Board have done as yet fills me with any confidence. Maybe they could start by being a lot more professional with their messaging.
Fair play to the AS Nancy fans. I can only judge from here, and perhaps also the empty stands, but there just doesn't seem to be an appetite for any form of concerted actions. And it's only relatively recently that sentiment has hardened against them, but more in the form of apathy than action. I certainly have no agenda. Only opinions. From afar, because I have no other option. And people can take them or leave them, I have no issue with that. What is absolutely vital is that whatever the level of tickets sold, and even whatever division we find ourselves in, the club take the actions that preserve the future of our club. In relation to that, what players we have, what the tone of voice is in statements and whether we have flags from the train station is inconsequential compared to our financial footing.
