I wouldn't read anything into that at all. To play for the Chinese national team I'm pretty sure you have to be a resident of China, or become naturalised like Nico Yennaris did. I may be wrong but I'm sure that's how it works?

I've never understood why the town hasn't marketed that more. Incompetence I suppose. The town could be a tourism hotspot for Chinese people.
Same goes for Joseph Locke ,his achievements are massive but very few in his hometown know what he did other than leave us a recreation area.
Grace Hung I believe mentioned the link between Barnsley and China through religion at the press conference that announced the new owners. We have two Chinese owners and if we get a player in their national side, hopefully we will sell plenty of merchandise and subscriptions to iFollow back to the billion plus people of China (unless iFollow is blocked there like many other sites are).
