Latest News CHOPRA INTERVIEW Michael Chopra gave us an interview at Ninian Park today and he's looking forward to the new season. "The main thing I'm looking forward to is playing football every Saturday, which I haven't been doing every week," he said. "It's been a pleasure that the new manager Dave Jones is going to give me the chance to do that." Chopra's last big run was at Barnsley, where he proved he can score goals. He said, "I've always got belief in myself and I know if I get the chances then I'm going to score. It's just other people creating the chances for me, if other people can do that then I can guarantee goals." Not many footballers can say they made their debut in the Champions League and more so against Barcelona. "I played at the Nou Camp, I think I came on for seven or ten minutes," said Michael. "Just to be there is a dream come true. To just get on the pitch and play for seven minutes alongside Kluivert and Frank de Boer. It was amazing but like I said, it doesn't matter where I'm playing I'll always enjoy my football. "At Barnsley I think it took me a couple of games to get used to it and to get used to playing with the lads but once the first one had gone in a lot more followed. "Hopefully I can score on my debut but if not the fans have to be patient. It might take me two or three games but after that I can guarantee that the goals will come. "I've spoken to quite a lot of people about Cardiff and they all said it's a nice area. The fans are really passionate just like the Newcastle fans were, so I'm used to that and I'm used to how the fans are. "The main thing for me is just to be playing." Cardiff City's pre-season is away at Canada. Chopra will be part of that squad and will be a good introduction to the rest of the lads. "It will be nice to get away and to get the pre-season done in a different country and it will be nice to get to know the lads a lot better as well."
