yeah can u imagine? such a great player, cocky goal celebration but he is right, he is red hot at the moment!
Odd-Jobs gonna get 20 this season, can feel it in mi watter.
Dunt know who he'll score em for like...

The next John Hendrie Fantastic championship player, fails on premiership. In both cases they were probably the Best Championship player and could not make the grade in the premiership. Incredible

To be fair to Chopra he's never played with a good Premiership side.
It a shame we didn't have the funds to sign him.

RE: The next John Hendrie Disagree... I reckon Hendrie was more than effective for us in the Prem, he was just coming to the end of his days. He still scored some impressive and vital goals. I'll always remember him against Manchester United. Proved himself there. As for Chopra - he's not exactly knocking on. Could be that this season really sees him come into his potential. There's time yet for him to make it in the top flight.
RE: The next John Hendrie he got promoted with Leed, Newcastel and boro all of whom let him go after promotion
Top finisher, we would only boo him, like certain elements did when he actually scored for us V Donny if anyone can remember that night? How poor are some reds fans at times(dunno) (dunno)

RE: The next John Hendrie All of whom (perhaps bar Leeds - I'm not sure) spent substantial sums of money to bring big names in. He was really unlucky at Boro (as was Higgy) - they went a pissed a load of money up the wall on Ravenlli etc. Newcastle went a dumped a legendary amount of money on some big big names. At the end of the day I don't think Hendrie was ever going to make it for Man United or Chelsea - he wasn't 'world class' as such, but he'd have been good enough for the less fashionable Premier League sides that have to cut their cloth and survive.
we should have pushed the boat out for him when we went up!!! We were on the promotion wave and we badly missing a striker to finish off some great attacking play. 500K he went for. We should have bought him. nuff said.
It would have been a safe investment... ...even with the wages. We could've sold him at the end of the year for profit. Easy in hindsight though.
We were supposed to! Andy Ritchie was due to sign him at Cardiff the day we were promoted. McPhail was also due to follow suite. The deal was all but done and Mr Cryne instucted Ritchie to complete the deal but he opted to leave it until the following week and get out on the lash with the team. Ridsdale stepped in that day and signed em both up.
dont need hindsight said it at the time. When chopra came out and said "who knows what will happen if barnsley go up" i thought that was a clear "come and get me". Was gutted when we didnt. But we will never know who's fault that was - sheps or ritchies?
