Sheffield Wednesday’s players have been told to pay around £30 each to take the train to Saturday’s game at Crystal Palace.

The cash-strapped club planned to send the squad to London on a coach but the players were not keen on a long motorway journey and asked if they could go by train.

They were given the go-ahead after agreeing to pay towards their own fares.

Wednesday, who are desperate for funds, revealed to the Stock Exchange yesterday that a proposed takeover by Geoff Sheard has stalled.

Can we catch the train with them and make sure that they are in 'the right frame of mind' to face Palace?

RE: Sheffield Wesdnesday and Leeds United

I'd never want them to go out of business, just be stuck in the lower divisions, struggling, for ever. Especially Leeds.

    What Dirk said, plus

In and out of admin so they keep losing 10 points or so, to ensure they never get anywhere the playoffs never mind promotion. This will also help to ensure that they are continually snubbed by players they are trying to sign.

A few floods will help, too, and also lots of rumoured bids from big African wool magnates which never come to fruition.

    It will be most enjoyable.

    what about us

hope we're going down the night before & staying in a hotel.

although getting stuck in a traffic jam on a coach is a good excuse for a defeat. hasn't laws used that already this season?
