Am i right in thinking

And this is just speculation obviously, that Gerry Taggart, strong central defender, potential on field leader, ideally equipped for the demands of thsi league made it quite clear that he would like, nay be delighted to return to Barnsley and play for us ? Thereby filling a massive void that has been there for many a long season now ?

Jigsaw/Vaughan out on loan for 'experience' and all that.

    Possibly

although I got the impression from Warnocks interview on Radio Sheff that it was an established player, proven striker. was thining either Todorov or Zamora. Thats certainly the calibre the Blunts fans will be expecting.

    And making matters worse

to publicly state in the local press that we didnt need a player of that kind, were not interested in Taggart cos he wouldnt play a full season.

    get.

    ready.

and also to state quite clearly

we have enough defenders and then on deadline day say that we havent got enough defenders is at best incompetent management and at worst dishonest.

Brown and Taggart from Official Site

SUNDERLAND striker Chris Brown has closed the door on a loan move to Oakwell by setting his sights firmly on a Championship club.

Brown, who was the subject of a loan enquiry by Reds boss Andy Ritchie on deadline day, told the Black Cats Official Website: "I spoke to the gaffer and it suits me to go out on loan if it gives me a better chance of playing," Brown told the club's official website. I need to be playing competitive football if I'm going to keep improving.

"I gather some Championship clubs have made enquiries and it would be good to get a club at a good level like that for a month. It can't happen just yet because of rules on loans but hopefully it will get sorted out in the next couple of weeks."

    COACHING ROLE FOR EX RED

FORMER Barnsley defender Gerry Taggart is set to be handed a coaching role at Stoke City at the end of the season.

Manager Johan Boskamp said: "Maybe if I'm still here next year and he wants to then I want him to stay in my staff. Gerry's great to have at the club and that is why I wanted to keep him here for another season in the summer.

"He has a big presence in the dressing room and as you could see the other night he we was giving the lads encouragement from the dug-out.

"He's got great experience and he's been helping me a lot to learn about the English game and players here."

I'm sure McCarthy said he will only loan Brown to Championship sides?

Hows that BFC's fault that he's signed for a CHAMPIONSHIP side?
