Great ride - very impressive. Thought Quintana would win the stage but Froome was having none of it. Brilliant stuff.

Seconded. The way he bounced back from Friday - fantastic.

I dont know.... I watched his performance and I couldnt help drawing comparrisions with the way Lance Armstrong used to zip up a mountatin. I remember the old addage about great cycling feats "If a performance seems too good to be true, its because its not true". I hope he is clean.

Have you managed to visit a stage yet?

PS the 509 was closed yesterday and my detour took me past by your winter abode. I can report it is still there and wasnt on fire.

Couldn't disagree more. Bang out of order to question his integrity based on absolutely sod all.

I see Tyson Gay has just failed a drugs test. Like Dwayne Chambers before him. Usain Bolt is faster than them both. What does that say about him?

Indeed what does that say? When the sports greatest icon of all time was proven to be a user, along with countless others, questions will be raised.

    In Froome I trust.

Afraid not - the guest situation changed a bit down here at short notice and so to cut a long story short I missed out on seeing Cav win on Friday and didn't fancy the start of the stage yesterday having seen the start last year at Mâcon. Have been enjoying it on TV though.

Nice to know. A friend is using it as a working base this summer so we're not overly worried but it's always nice to receive some reassurance.

Hope all is well Chez Turvey.

Agreed. There's plenty of real hero's working in Barnsley though, in the hospital/hospices saving lives.

Oh come on, do I really have to justify supporting a sportsman on this level on a sporting web site?

Not at all, mate. Just the word "hero" is used very loosely these days :) I'm sure he's a very talented individual in his field.
