The imminent relegation of my former club Leeds United has rounded off an unbelievably terrible few seasons for this great club.

From Champions League semi-finals to League One in the matter of six years! They are in disarray and are seriously considering the option of going into administration.

If you look at Rotherham United, this time last year if they would have been heading down to League Two they would have taken the rap, they avoided it by beating the drop on the last day of the season.

If they go into administration you can't blame them as they are genuinely paying the wages and trying to keep themselves afloat.

If worse comes to worse they may have to go for it and they would have the option to have the 10 point deduction penalty incurred when going into administration this season as they are already heading down to League One.

It has to be an option for them in order to pay the wages. Ken Bates must be thinking how on earth he is going to pay them and by going down this route at least they will know that they will be playing football next season.

I would be surprised if a team like Leeds went that way but when you look at what has gone on at Elland Road this Millennium, you just never know.

At the beginning of the season Kevin Blackwell would have been aiming to get to the play-offs at the start of the season. The one thing that he wouldn't have expected was that Leeds would be struggling all season.

Especially when you've got David Healy, Richard Creswell, Robbie Blake and that calibre of players. It is just incredible that they have struggled at that level.

[IMG]Dennis Wise will believe that he could have done a better job this season. He had long enough to turn it around after taking over from Kevin Blackwell.

I think he would hold his hands up and say he could have done better.

There is a dividing line between success and failure and if Leeds were at the top you wouldn't batter an eyelid with the quality that they have in their squad.

Wise has chopped and changed the team but that is understandable. It's like anything else when you are struggling - that's what you do.

A few years ago I was a similar situation at Stoke where I only had 14 games to keep them up. When you are on that slippery slope you just do the best you possibly can to try and change things around.

I don't think Dennis would have gone there if he didn't believe that he could have kept Leeds in the Championship.

Although it will be hard for Leeds fans to do they must look ahead. Next season there will most likely be a complete overhaul at the club. They won't be able to afford to keep most of the squad as they won't be able to pay them decent money. A lot of the players won't want to play at that level either.

Creswell and Blake are Championship players and Healy has the ability to play at the top level - he has shown that on the international stage. Why would they want to hang about in League One?

Everything is up in the air at the moment. It needs a lot of discussion - people need to decide if they are still going to be there and, more importantly, if the club will be able to carry on.

These decisions need to be made very quickly.

[IMG]Wise will do well to keep his job. Ken Bates has already shown that he will back Wise and you have got to admire Ken for that in a way.

One thing's for certain is that Dennis will be willing to have a crack at bringing the club up.

There may be changes as the club may feel that if it hadn't been for Dennis maybe they wouldn't be in this particular predicament that they are in now.

I would be surprised if Dennis Wise is the Leeds manager next season.

It would be a big ask for them to bounce back. The three teams that went down from the Championship last season (Crewe, Millwall and Brighton) are nowhere to be seen.

That tells you that it's going to be a mammoth task.

Peter Ridsdale has come out and asked the fans to forgive and forget. He has to accept his part in Leeds drop from the top but you can't blame him for the last couple of seasons. Leeds were still paying more money in wages than 80 per cent of the other teams in the Championship this year.

That tells its own story. Maybe Ridsdale was the start of it all but it wasn't as if Leeds were the worst paid players in the Championship so how can he be responsible for that?

That's an easy cop out for fans to blame Peter Ridsdale.

    What does this mean?:

'you wouldn't batter an eyelid with the quality that they have in their squad.'

Batter an eyelid? What like fish and chips? Grim.

You’d find that Gary Birtles is the worst commentator ever.

The comments which Steve Claridge made last season where actually made by Birtles and Claridge agreed to an extent when Birtles said Swansea and Huddersfield where more glamorous clubs and Barnsley the less fashionable club went up.

I’ve spoke to Kamara a few times and he’s a top man, you can’t insult him just because he’s wrote an article on his old club.

Chris Kamara - **** commentator FACT

    He's a clown and a (wnkr).

Not only is that article bland but it's alsoa classic exampleof stating the bleeding obvious (I mean, he is obviously using all his contacts to providesuch an insightful perspective there, isn't he?)

Usually, wheneverKamara has anything to say about Barnsley it isbitter and negative and influenced by the fact that he tried (on more than one occasion) toget the managers job, but failed.

He was a rubbishmanager and he looks like a spiv.

Other than that - top bloke! (asshole)

Best thing I can say about him is that he was managing Bradford when we beat them 2-0 to secure promotion. Cheers Chris!

And a large chunk of that wage bill was in paying players from the Ridsdale era who were no longer at the club.

Negative? He always spoke well about us and been with been good friend of Andy Ritchie gave us a lot of coverage. Fair do’s he played for Leeds and has just written an article on the Skysports Website.

Bothered. Leeds are down and why should they bother you any more.

He might not have been too bothered about career as a manager but he didn’t do too badly with Bradford did he? Top Bloke, who has in the past bought me a few pints.
