Has any other ex Barnsley player fallen out of favour as much as he has?

Chatting to an Huddersfield fan after the game...

Him: Great season for Yorkshire, just need Sheff Utd to come up now
Me: No we don't, I don't want any club involved with Chris Morgan coming up
Him: He's one of my best mates actually
    Me: Tell him he's a ****.
Him: If you said that to his face he'd knock you out.
Me: Precisely why no one likes him. Make sure you tell him he's not welcome in Barnsley.

    End of conversation. Sithi.

It couldn't happen to a more deserving manager or club. It's really finished the weekend off nicely seeing them fail in the play-offs again. And Morgan isn't hard, he's a coward. I've met people like him when I was in the Army, gave the impression of being hard as nails but he's nothing but a sneaky little coward.

It's this pre-meditated attack on Hume and his refusal to apologise afterwards. Watch the video and you'll see him take a look over his shoulder first before elbowing him straight in the head without jumping for the ball

Tbh, I didn't see him look over his shoulder like you said, but he still shouldn't have gone in with his elbow like that.

One of the most barbaric acts i've ever seen on a football pitch. Indefensible

And only got a yellow card for it, to think Suarez got a 10 game ban for biting someone.

Watching the video again I think his look is just off camera so not seen. There are pictures which show it better I think but a few seconds before the ball arrives he has a look over his shoulder and then elbows him straight in the head. What made it worse was that Hume had already complained to the ref about Morgan elbowing him a few minutes earlier

That isn't a great video, there are other ones that show the brutality and intent of Morgan much better. There is absolutely no doubt about what he meant to do and he got away with it thanks to our spineless FA. The way that him and the club acted after the event was appalling too.

The assault was bad enough. But it was the refusal to apologise for fear of it being perceived as an admission of guilt, that was more galling and utter cowardice on the part of Morgan and his advisers. The way that Kevin Blackwell conducted himself was disgraceful too, both 'men' should be thoroughly ashamed.

I have a doubt about what he meant to do.

Did he elbow Iain Hume? Yes. Should have been sent off? Yes. Should his ban have been increased beyond the statuary 3 games? Yes. Should he have been fined and warned over his future conduct? Yes. Should he have apologised to Iain Hume? Yes. Should Sheffield United have acted much better in the wake of the incident? Yes. Should Radio Sheffield? Yes. Should the FA? Yes. Did Chris Morgan deliberately try to elbow Iain Hume in the head and injure him? I don't know. I have a reasonable doubt about that.

I'm perfectly aware of the injuries Iain Hume sustained and the hell it must have been for him. That doesn't mean Chris Morgan set out to do that.
