I was chatting to a sports lawyer this weekend I happened to mention the Hume-Morgan incident and he said that, where there was clear evidence of intent to injury, causing actual and serious injury, almost all sports would review the evidence and take appropriate subsequent action. He also said that a good number of folk in his field are of the opinion that the FA is a weak organisation, largely in the pocket of the Premier League. Their stance on the Hume incident confirmed what others were telling him about how the FA is regarded both nationally and internationally.
