Been to Metrodome tonight for Dodworth junior football club's presentation and Chris was presenting the awards he was an absolute star. 12 age groups must have been 100 + trophies to present model of patience anybody who wanted a photo with him they got it. Must have been stood there 2 hours plus, and all this from another team's player
I love to see/hear this sort of social news. We all know some footballers are total arse wipes, but COG attending your presentation night, we (Wombwell Juniors FC) have had Scott Jones, Bruce Dyer, Adie Moses........and all of em have been brilliant. Football does have the ability and opportunity no really make a positive difference in our local Community. Never under estimate the power of football.
Sir Bobby was handing out the trophy's at Darton School this evening he was brilliant with the kids apparently
Too true but i repeat that this is from a player who has still got 12 months left on his contract with another club.
In my 35 years as a Reds supporter I have never known a player become such a hero in such a short space of time. Maybe only Ashley Ward comes close. All this just makes me more confident Chris will be signing for us very soon,
Nice to hear. Footy players get a bad press as a whole these days so it's good to hear when they are doing their sport and themselves proud. How many "minted" young men in any walk of life would have given up their Saturday nights to do this?
Remarkable given that he's only been on loan here for 6 months and he's now gone back to his parent club.
what mi dad forgot to mention in his original post, prob because of the 3 halfs of shandy ,was chris was asked if there had been any contact between the clubs and if so would he like to sign permanent. Could have gave a very diplomatic lets see how it goes answer. Instead he said he had no idea if there had been contact but he would love to sign permanent, top bloke now alltogether, chris ogrady is a red is a red is a red.....
Gary the chairman kept it quiet that Sir Bobby was attending but when he turned up the kids were in awe. Great night topped off superbly by a legend turning up to present player of the year trophies then proceeding to stand for the next hour or so for photos. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Forum Runner
