Too slow two years ago and can only have gotten slower. If Burton pin their faith in Chris, honest though he is, they will flounder.
I think it's a top signing. Yeh, rather slow but if Clough is gonna go two up front, they could do worse than having O'Grady up top with another lad.
Possibly and I'm not arguing with what you're saying, but think he could be decent if he had somebody next to him who could play off the hard work he does.
ive no time for him anymore as he couldnt wait to leave us when we went down, and now it doesnt surprie me to see hes only wanted by the championship's relegation favourites.
Hmm does that exclude us? TBH I cant see us being anything more than Championship relegation favourites.
Now that is better mate. BTW bookies have in the past been known to be wrong. BTW I honestly believe we will finish bottom half of the league, and survive. We have the momentum. There again I have been known to be wrong in the past.
well thats just it marc, yes he did try his best for us and thats what made it all the more disappointing when he left us. luke steele was another who did this at the time but o'g seemed to get more criticism. ian, id love it if we could prove the doubters wrong and finish like you say near or below mid table. in fact id love it if we could stay up on goal difference alone, just staying up is what this next season is all about for me. we're on the crest of a wave so yes momentum could prove to be a big factor.
We couldn't afford Gog or Steele in League 1. We wanted both out. I have a lot of time for him played well in a shocking side. I wish him well wherever he goes.
yes it was a shocking side jimmy (god knows what danny wilson was playing at, at the time), when O'g played alongside nick prozzy up front and we also had the overweight dale jennings as another goalscorer. that relegation brings back so many memories of missed opportunities when we could and maybe should have stayed up instead of the likes of millwall.
Getting relegated was the best thing that could have happened to us. Allowed us not only to regroup, but to have a complete overhaul of our recruitment policy. Obviously this season and onwards will be the litmus test, but I really believe we've got the system right this time. Pro-active rather than reactive. It's a vital difference.
As the wrestler Seth Rollins says...... https://i.ytimg.com/vi/_d381FpHHZ0/maxresdefault.jpg His motto after coming back from a career threatening injury fits us perfectly.
Whilst it is true that the club needed these high earners off of the wage bill, Chris O'Grady wasted no time in stating in a interview with "The Star" that he desired to stay in the championship. Steele and Cranie kept their counsel irrespective of their personal desires to remain in the second tier. People's frustrations with CO'G stems from the fact that he immediately looked for a way out and never gave us a second thought despite being a causational factor in our relegation, which he was, although admittedly he was probably the best of a bad bunch.
