    Thorpe has gone as well.

    Favourite for coach in my opinion is Alec Stewart

    It's a dead cert that Stewart has got the gig as interim coach for the West Indies tour but he allegedly doesn't want it on a full time basis.
    Strong rumour that they are going to split the coaching teams to test and ODI/T20. On that basis I assume we would go for someone like Kirsten for the test squad and perhaps a young English coach for the shorter formats.

    The only other thing I've got to add is that Tom Harrison should lose his job as well, don't know how he survives the ashes debacle and Root should go as test captain.

    I misread an article which said that he was up for it….. “it” being the full time job.
    He certainly talks sense.

    Root has retained the captaincy for the tour …….. I suspect he would have gone in normal circumstances regarding his gaffers !
