no different than Chambers............... tainted IMHO-one I can understand but three missed tests-the system is quite robust-you have to keep the testers informed of your whereabouts at all times-even Rio Ferdinand only missed one-and he's got an excuse
RE: no different than Chambers............... Completely different in my opinion. She's was very young at the time and several top athletes have come up and said that the testing programme is very confusing. It's not as those she missed the tests at the meetings or the football ground like Rio. It's like some random bloke comes up and says he's going to test you while you are at home and at very short notice. I don't know the complete ins and outs but I think she more than deserves a second chance. I'm sure she'll be one of the most tested athletes for the rest of her career. On the other hand: The Ukranian who won the Heptathlon has been tested positive for drugs, banned yet still competes. Now I don't agree that Chambers should be in the Olympics but there should definitely one rule for all.
RE: no different than Chambers............... There was an interesting article on the web by the guy from the drug supplier BALCO, the same guy who gave Chambers his drugs - and he was saying that very few people will be caught during the Olympics because most of those taking drugs will use them to bulk up and strengthen up during the off-season where testing is extremely limited, or, in the case of Jamaican athletes, non-existant. He said that testing during the Olympics was basically propaganda. Apparently the US testing authorities didn't bother to test most of their track and field athletes during the off season as they believed they would find many of them on something or other. I suspect its not much different elsewhere.
Sorry but thats uninformed drivel She is one of 3 of our athletes who have missed 3 drug tests over a year at these games. They have to be in a set place 5 times a week, every week without fail. These are long blocks of times and vary wildly each day. There are over 100 Brisitsh atheletes on 2 missed drug tests. The day she missed her third her team had turned up to train at their usual training track and a school sports day had been put on without informing the athletes and team en masse decided to move to another track to train. This happened to be in one of her blocks for that week she should be at the track and unfortunatly the testerd turned up and her and another athelete conseqeuntly missed tests. Another was in hte next couple of days and was negative, as is done whenever an athlete msses a test. Rio Ferdinand on the other hand actively left the trainingg ground having being informed the testers were there and then refused to come back

RE: Sorry but thats uninformed drivel clearly missing tests does not mean that she can be shown to be guilty, but it's a shame that knowing she was just one missed test away from a ban she couldn't pick up a phone and let the testers know.
If The Sun has the cheek to even remotely celebrate her win after that scandalous front cover they ran begging us not to let Christine become the face of our Olympics then they should be fined and shut down tomorrow
RE: no different than Chambers............... Hey didnt get it quite right - the Ukranian was second but the breaking news is that she has tested positive - once a cheat always a cheat!
