How many on here get caught up in the Christmas frenzy as its now labeled?? I've spoke with a fair few folk who say 'I'm not fussed about Christmas, it's rubbish, people spending way too much on presents' I personally love Christmas, I've 2 little girls and it's brilliant to see there faces when they open there presents. I did a job for a church going woman other day who was mumping about how no one really a celebrates Christmas for what it's true meaning is, and I got the impression kids probably get a orange and a shiney 10 bob piece for there presents. I'm probably one of those that gets carried away with buying for the kids and mrs but it's 1 day out of the year for me where you can surprise your loved ones with presents.....well that's my take on it!! Only downside is the little un' pulling tree over twice and bottom of tree having no baubles or decorations due to a mischievous little Ella
Couldn't agree more mate Little one only 7 week and we have gone mad this year Thing is he won't have a clue what's going on but makes us feel good Can't wait until he believes in santa and like you mentioned watching his face as he opens his presents Hope you and your family have a great Christmas mate All the best Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm with you mate. I'm normally a reyt miserable sod but get me to Christmas and I turn into Clark Griswald. I love spoiling my boys and generally being optimistic.
The most precious thing you can give to your kids is your time. Forget football, forget bbs, don't buy endless gifts that will be forgotten in a coupe of weeks time, put down the mobile with facebook and txts and just be with them and for them. Worth more to them than anything you can buy. They are happy with the box and the empty cardboard packaging when so young. I've got a 7 month old and its great seeing how much he loves the lights and decorations but after that everything else is just exploration for him right now.
Those things are not mutually exclusive you know. I doubt BL is going to chuck a bunch of presents at a 7 week old and then sit down with his phone. If he wants to spoil his kid for his first ever Christmas then let him even if everyone (including himself) knows it is a teeny bit daft. I imagine BL's household is going to be a lovely place on Christmas Day.
I always loved Christmas when the kids were little, especially when they still believed in Santa Claus.
what do you mean..............err I mean why wouldn't you............please don't tell me you mean................
We were away for most of December last year, we arrived home on Christmas Eve so no tree, no decorations, no presents. I was surprised how much this bothered me, I'm in my fifties, atheist, no kids, no family nearby so you'd think Christmas would be almost "just another day", but last year was horrible and what I missed the most was the run up to the day, the ***** tv programmes, the xmas ads, seeing the appalling illuminated houses, etc. It'll be another quiet one this year but at least the tree is up, I've got the missis a few presents and Kate Rusby's Christmas albums are on rotation!
