... another one that people seem to find odd in the office? Anyone for a slice?

The cheese has to be proper Lancashire though (off Barnsley market) or Cheddar

One of my mum's favourites that.

Have you tried "Old Amsterdam"? Lovely cheese, bet it goes great with Christmas Cake.

This is an old Yorkshire tradition, but it has to be Wensleydale, or at a push another crumbly white like Cheshire - it's the acidity that makes them go so well together or summat.

I normally go with Cheshire - though I also think a Red Leicester or Double Gloucester work quite well

I have a friend originally from Wales who puts Stilton on Christmas cake. It doesnt work for me but each to their own

its the ONLY way to eat Christmas cake.... but

with a glass of ruby port for me... any cheese as long as its mega strong, and yes I do like it with any of the 'blue' cheeses too.... but not with the runny cheeses.

we have a couple of good market down here, and that's the place to get decent cheese... is there not a cheese stall on Barnsley market ?
May be a tad more expensive, but you get what you pay for in my book.
