It would be fare of me to say that this thread is going off the rails.

    Lovely

What size is the model? Was it a custom job?

I've got a full-size replica of the nameplate including the red and white splasher but not the half-football and also a of the smokebox numberplate. They're up the loft somewhere, I'll see if I can find them and take a photo. The nameplate is about 4 foot long.

As you probably know, it was a Gresley engine and I live in Church Gresley, he lived a couple of miles away at Netherseal where his dad was vicar and where he's buried.

    I've been before mate.
It was busier than I remember... even at this time of year.
It was still nice and quiet, only went for 5 days, had 2 scorchers, a couple on windy days but today as we left, it chucked it down all day and the entire island was smothered in low cloud.

I like the people more than anything, so friendly and I know enough Portuguese to get me through.
