I'm now back home in the warm after 3 hours of freezing my nads off in the foyer of Asda. It was all worthwhile as we managed to collect a further 5 trollies of gifts for the underprivileged children of Barnsley. It was good to meet up with Crystal, Laura, Windy & One F In Foreigner, made even better when, between them, they added 47 gifts to our cause with a promise of more to come from Windy, thank you all. I must make a special mention of Crystal though for helping to distribute some of our flyers to shoppers as they were entering the store. Thanks also to anyone else who has contributed but chosen to retain their anonymity. We are there again next Saturday from 10 til 4 although I won't be there as I've been invited to Dublin for the weekend. Thanks for reading.
RE: will you be there the week after? I will be there on the final day that we are running the appeal (11th December) between 1 & 4pm. The type of present doesn't really matter as long as it is suitable for the sex & age group of the childs name that is on the tag that you choose. If you are thinking of donating something that you already have, it can easily be matched up to a tag. Having had a look at this years tags for the first time today, the ages that I saw ranged from 3 months up to 15 years old. It's possible that there may be some 16 year olds that I didn't see but there won't be anyone any older.
Can I just say.......... The gifts I dropped off today were from all of the Wednesday lot including The Big Lils, Dirk Hartog, Mr & Mrs Alityke and Tyketalker. Good to meet you mate, and One F in Foreigner.
Thanks for flagging that up You did tell me before about the quiz team being behind your contribution but I couldn't remember who else formed the team!
And with your help As well as that of everyone else that has contributed so far, we are well on course to at least equal last years haul of gifts.
