A1 Pacific Tornado now running! Anyone old enough and sad enough to know what I am talking about will no doubt delighted. Seeing one of these if full flow was really impressive ( to even those that were not as sad as I am/was) For those interested - link below http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7735067.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7735067.stm
A bloke in my office Went to ride behind it on its first day of operation about 4 weeks ago. That was on the Great Central Railway at Loughbrough.
Actually passed it on the A1 when it went south for painting, absolutely awsome passing something that size on a low loader, caused chaos mind because apart from the space it took up everybody obviously also slowed to snails pace to have a good look
It's fantastic getting a BRAND NEW steam loco running Hard to believe that it has been done but well done to all concerned. Bit like the feeling of seeing Vulcan XH558 flying again afer all of these aircraft had been taken out of service. We should be proud in this country of our engineering achievements instead of just allowing the likes of the Chinese to produce everything. Well done the Tornado Team (clap) Well done the Vulcan to the Sky Team (clap)
