Add in Brown’s wage saved, then it gives us maybe a straight £12k. Add an investment of £3k a week, and we’ve £15k a week to do something with...... If we sign a decent domestic striker between now and next week, on £15k a week, it all makes sense...... Glass half full and all that - but that’s how you should balance the books.....
Hahahaha hahahaha give over now, if we could get Harry Kane for 15 grand a week our board would say no. Your dreaming if you think they'll sanction a 15 grand a week signing.
Yeah, I know. But, if it’s about balancing the books - this shows theoretically it can be done. Like you say, unlikely though.
You can do owt theoretically. What would you do then about all his disenchanted team -mates who are banging on you door asking for a raise.
They’d probably be relieved for someone to take the pressure off. The squad were happy for Moore, Hammill and McBurnie to come in on higher wages the other year.
Maybe they now realise less is more when it comes to squad size. Quality over quantity. I'd rather we brought in two lads on 5k a week then four lads on 2.5k a week. All these savings we should be able to pay someone 10k a week but it won't happen.
But would that be to the detriment of the squad? Bringing in a player, likely from the lower divisions so unproven, on 50% more than Mowatt and Woodrow? I think more likely we bring in three players totalling £15k a week.
