RE: yes by law you cant have leave while on the sick Ooh, excellent..........I shall have to claim my day back from when I had Laryngitis.
Currently trying to do that The first 5 working days of my illness also happened to be a week I had booked off work. Filled in a self cert form that I got from the doc's but been told I need a retrospective sick note. If you consulted a doctor whilst ill, shouldn't be a problem, not sure how you'll get on if you didn't. Mind you, that could just be the rules for the place I work.
RE: Currently trying to do that Depends on your boss really, people had no problems at my place. I also recall when my mum died, the company rules for compassionate leave are that you are allowed absence from receiving the news until the working day after the funeral. As the funeral was on a Friday (just over a week after she died) I should have been back the following Monday but I really couldn't face a full week at work and went back on the Wednesday instead - manager was absolutely fine about it. Also I had the Monday prior to funeral booked as holiday, my manager reminded me to claim that back.
RE: Hmmm if you have a legitmate doctors note for being off im sure you can claim it back. i never had any problems. at very least they should pay you the leave money. Depends how many days you talking about to kick up a fuss about. But you could complain and take it all the way, they would soon back down.
RE: Hmmm To be honest it's only one day and I never thought about it until a colleague brought it into conversation.
Just got the doctors note today That I was told I'd need to get my holidays back. Mind you, it was a full week that I had booked.
RE: Hmmm if you determined enough out of the prinicpal you could get it back. it depends if you think they owe you one. i taken advantage of time off at my work and been paid for being out drinking ff so id let it slide. unless i was in a bad mood then id go for it
Only if sick on or before holiday starts. Then you would get all your holidays again. but if off sick once your holiday/s have started.No.
