when coppell was mentioned. "if they can get him, great" exactly. No way will pc pay the wages he will prob command. Pc you have to fork out this time, no cheap option, or you will probably be the next one who get's chanted at.

    claridge is a knob....

"he (SD) kept Barnsley in the Championship, and you have to wonder want the expectation is"

avoid the annual relegation battle, comfortably boring mid table will do.

the expectation realistically is 7th bottom. Unfortunatly certain people think that we have to be striving for the play offs.

I don't think anyone expects us to be playoff contenders - but it's more than reasonable after three years of being in this division to expect us not to be involved in the relegation dog fight. Claridge doesn't know what he's talking about - just someone else that would like to put us down.

Claridge is saying what most outsiders will be saying. That keeping a club like Barnsley up for three successive seasons has been an achievement. Unfortunately there isn't many outside o' tarn who rate us any higher than that.

Outsiders can think what they want though

What do they know about the performances, how we play as a team, how the tactics have been gone down, how creative the attack is and how well the defence is organised? Chuff all is what.

Football is aspirational stuff so there's nothing wrong with clubs thinking with their heart and dreaming of greater things. The moment you give up on that is the moment there ceases to be a point to it all. But leaving that aside for the moment, we're just thinking with our heads, thankyou.

Keeping Barnsley up has been an achievement, no doubt. I'd like to thank Simon Davey for that. We want to be a Championship club and that's what avoiding the drop proves and delivers.

But I don't think outsiders should be passing ignorant comment about us wanting to improve things and avoid relegation battles, which like Russian roulette, will eventually result in disaster. Yes, Barnsley's main goal should be avoiding relegation but with the current set up it looked like it was only a matter of time before the luck ran out. The three years of successful avoidance all went close to the wire and with football results often swinging on the whims and fortunes of who's feet the ball bounces to and where the ref is looking at a particular instance, maintaining the status quo cannot be satisfactory.

Patrick Cryne has shown that he does not have the sacking mentality so why should outsiders get on his back when he makes a reluctant decision to try and improve things?

Good luck for the future by the way Simon.

Lets not forget football is also an entertainment business

Yes hes kept us up but in the main weve struggled to entertain, particularly away from home and that rot has spread to our home form. 2 home wins 2009???

This certainly falls below my expectations. Its bloody hard work watching leaderless, inept performances from a team that cant create, defend properly or score goals.

Its ok the likes of Claridge looking in from the outside and making judgements as a pundit BUT i love BFC and so does my son and some of the stuff turned out by us at the moment is hard to endure and sometimes embarrassing and it hurts to be a laughing stock.

    **** off Claridge!

    Claridge makes that show unwatchable

What exactly is he doing rocking side to side constantly every week? I get motion sickness just watching him.

Actually no I don't because I record it, fast forward to our match our highlights and turn off. I simply can't watch a man rock side to side, it's too distracting.

Am I the only one that can't stand his rocking?
