Admits he tried to take his own life. Shocking disease and one I don't think people will ever really understand.
And Ralph Little of all people has just piped up with this.... http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1skfskk
I lost a good friend to it last year, and a family member some time back. Unfathomable to be in that position where you feel the only solution is to stop all clocks ticking.
Whatever your thoughts or opinions are, you've gotta admit, that's one hell of an articulate, well written and thought provoking retort to his critisism!
Got to agree with Ralf on this one. If you want to kill yourself Clarke, take some pills, hang yourself, slit your wrists in the bath tub, but don't involve some innocent lorry driver, or possibly a family driving home one night after you've been drink driving. Like Ralf sez, the lorry driver could have been killed as well, and possible other car drivers. Got to admit though, horrible decease, must be in a bad place to do that!
Unless he's pschizophrenic and clinically unaware of his actions - for me he has to have some level of accountability, where others are getting harmed
Not been funny but you honestly think people in this position will be thinking abut their actions and how it will effect others
I'm no expert (on owt) but I'd guess it depends on the individual and their state of mind. People do go to the trouble of leaving well written notes to loved ones explaining unanswered question etc and trying to vindicate their decision. I've a friend who carried out a planned suicide to 'lessen' the effect on others (probably in his mind anyway). No one had an inkling he would ever contemplate carrying out something like that?!? It's a strange one indeed.
http://www.itv.com/news/2015-02-05/clark-carlisle-i-leapt-in-front-of-lorry-and-wanted-to-die/ Whatever people think of what he did I can't help but have sympathy with the situation he found himself in..... I just hope he can find some normality again and get the treatment he needs to live a decent life without this horrible condition causing him to do anything like this again in the future. Depression in my opinion is a life threatening illness that has no physical signs as such so people that haven't suffered with it don't always understand the full extent of it. Get well soon Clarke....
Very well put. How much has Clarke been paid for nearly giving an innocent lorry driver a death beside his name?
Ralf Little posted an open letter from someone in reply to the explanation of his comments he posted earlier... http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1skg437
There is obvious history between Little and Carlisle that wasn't in the public arena until this tweet. Whilst Little may be frustrated at what he see's as Carlisle using mental illness to excuse his behaviour he shouldn't be spitefully making comment in the social media , he belittles himself and other sufferers of depression who don't act out recklessly as part of their illness.
