glad you enjoyed it mate :)

if you want something a bit cheaper in sheffield (but admittedly more down market) but quality food all the same then go to Kashmir Curry Centre on Spittal Hill - proper back to basics

    http://www.restaurant-guide.com/kashmir-curry-centre.htm

or half way house between guru and kashmir is The Mangla - very popular amongst DeeDahs and bring your own booze, can bring in hand pulled beer in jugs from the pub across the road.

    I had

    Alloo tikki
    Lamb Rogan Josh
Pillau Rice & a Peshwari Naan

A pretty standard choice. Might try one of the specialities when I go again.

All eight of us cleared our plates and very much enjoyed it.

Best I've been to latly is the one up from Tinsley viaduct towards Rotherham

Its a big converted boozer..........great decor, great food and the service is very very special
But at this moment can't think of its name...........but would recommend it

But for somewhere closer yer can't beat the balti palace up Wombwell

But yes yer right the Mangla has a very good reputation but its in Burngreave
Mi bruver swears by The Mangla ..........and he should know cos he's got an indian wife
The boozer across the road is the East House......and they serve Timothy Taylors but be careful cos there's the west indian club next door and people just keep getting shot :)

    portions not generous

If you'd put that in the opening line, I wouldn't have had to read the rest of your post.

Don't go to the Kashmir if you are wearing a Saxon Lionheart Tour T-shirt,the owner doesn't like heavy metal, and he thinks the new Aagrah in Sheffield is a front for a brothel, very bizarre man.The foods alright though but not as good as the Mangla ,or the Aagrah
