For you statisticians out there. Is there a scenario whereby both Barnsley and Huddersfield only need a point in the final game, to stay up? I'm thinking we could just pass the ball to each other for 90 minutes, and grind out a 0-0 draw?
As a statistician I can confirm that there is (not that it involves statistics). If we pick up 4 points from our next two games and Huddersfield pick up 3 points we would both have 54. If Wolves and Peterborough lose both of their games they will both be on 51 points as they are now. Because ours and Huddersfield's goal difference is worse than Peterborough's and Wolves' we would both need a point to ensure safety. This is the only way it could happen since it is the only set of results that would put us and Huddersfield on the same number of points.
We live in hope. Would be awesome. Every pass 'ole' for 90 minutes, both teams singing 'we are stayin up', commentators across the world foaming at the mouth. Like them Chinese badminton chicks
