Aged 92. R.I.P. old man and thanks for the memories. <img src ="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/2/22/Clive_Dunn-1973.png/220px-Clive_Dunn-1973.png"> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XC5fqzKxau8
If Leonard Cohen had written this, it would be called genius. Genuine pathos, a talented and well loved gentleman. God bless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KJGJRd8pGE
A legend RIP Cpl Jones totally loved Dads Army and Clive Dunn was a major part of that show. I echo your thoughts JLWBL
Legend!! Good age 92 - there was supposed to be a jinx on the actors - many of whom passed away! RIP Clive
Yes, strange how they all died. Must be something to do with the fact that they were all so ruddy old in the first place. Apart from Walker of course! Clive Dunn cost me a few quid when we used to do the dead pool when I worked in A&E at the Royal Free in the 1990's (nurses tend to have a slightly different relationship with death!). I think I had been suckered in by thinking he was in his 70's when he'd recorded the show 20 odd years earlier, without realising he was only in his 40's when he started playing Corporal Jones! As an aside, one of the lads won once year by choosing a well known comedy writer of yesteryear. We thought it was a bit of a leftfield choice and were amazed when he cleaned us out only a week or so later. Amazed that was until we found that the winner had been on duty when said comedy writer had been admitted a couple of days before we made our choices, in the final throws of a terminal illness. The Royal Free covering the Hampstead and Camden region was often frequented by slebs (catch me in the pub and I'll tell you a funny story about a well known Blunts fan who rolled into A&E tired and emotional one night, just after we'd relegated them!), so we changed the rules of the dead pool to disqualify anyone who had recently been spotted having treatment in the hospital that you worked in!
