There's a transfer embargo on them until the takeover is completed They must have missed a transfer payment to a club and tried to bend around the rules. Thats the only reason i can think, how come Mark Hudson was okay to leave Charlton for Cardiff for 1 Million though. Thats the bit i don't understand ? (dunno)
aye but when is the window closed. Simon says they have to be ready to draw the line under this and look elsewhere,so has he another on the cards or is it back to square one, time is getting low in any case. Also I cannot understand how a transfer OUT should be stopped, surley the money can be held in a trust of some sort till Charlton get it together, seems the assholes at the FA strike again.
RE: aye but when is the window closed. The window is closed on the 1st September. Maybe the new investers don't trust the old ones so they want to do business themselves and have told everything to be put on hold until they have they have completed the take over? I'm only guessing but presuming this could be one of many reasons, like you say though we should be looking elsewhere if it keeps dragging on. Neil Warnock has came out to the Media today and said Alan Lee is still on the transfer list and they are prepared to listen to offers for him even though he scored on Saturday. Personally, i would have prefered Gray but Lee won't be that a bad signing if we do go in for him. Swansea are rumoured to be interested in him now so we'll have to make a decision fast.
The Gray deal cant be that cut and dried because Charlton played him in the Carling cup the other night, you would have thought if it was a done deal Barnsley wouldnt have allowed this.
well you are wrong matey I just watched the interview with Simon on Barnsley player, the interview was done less than half an hour ago today, and he quite clearly said it is all agreed with both the player the club and agent. and it is simply the takeover that is holding the whole thing up.If you dio not believe then take a look at he said interview on Barnsley player, there is also a text version on main site if you donot have the Player.
RE: He's garbage. He is exactly the king of player we need, big strong and can chip in with goals. Its what he can bring to the team and do for the other strikers that will benefit us.
Parkinson, on Gray moving <p class="padd">Parkinson said: "Andy's a good lad and an honest professional. He would like to move back up north for family reasons. However, the deal to take him has got to be right for the club. If not, it wouldn't be doing justice to the people who have bought season tickets.</p> <p class="padd">"I understand Andy's concerns but he's a Charlton player and while he's here he'll make a contribution and it might well work out that he ends up staying here. We don't know.</p>
and he recons there has been no contact "We haven't had any contact [from Barnsley] over the last week and there certainly won't be any movement until after the weekend. I wouldn't like to let any player go unless we've got a replacement coming in. We let players go around this time last year but left ourselves short in certain areas."
