If Chelsea eventually get there way and buy Stones. Do we just count the fee we get from the sell on as the record fee (assuming it exceeds what we got for Ashley Ward) or do we include the initial fee we received as well? Are there any other clubs in the football league who's record transfer is a sell on clause fee?
Could be 15% of transfer over 10million or whatever its not necessarily 15% of the full transfer fee.suppose we'll never fully know.
What about Bournemouth? think they received a decent sell on for Llalana to Liverpool (via Southampton).
Southampton amuse me. (I should stop there but il explain) They sold the sell on clauses for Walcott and Bale when they were skint, probably don't need the cash now as they have a mega rich owner but missed out on 30% of the Bale to Madrid deal
Spot of jealousy there pompey_red Now now, i'm sure he'll call you a keyboard warrior still In all seriousness, when Stones does go and we get the extra cash, we'll only end up wasting it and end up having to pay inflated fees as clubs know we have some cash.
They might not have got where they are today so quickly without taking that bit of money when they were skint. Who knows? Just a thought.
